WHERE IS IT
Located in Florida, just to the south of Miami, the Keys are a 106-mile chain of islands that start at Key Largo and end at the southernmost point in the Continental United States in Key West. It's about 113 miles of roads and bridges and can take more than four hours if you drive from one end to the other! There are more than 40 bridges throughout the Keys, with the longest one being the 7-Mile Bridge in Marathon.

The Keys are actually an archipelago made up of exposed coral reefs and limestone formations that were once under water. Fluctuations in the water levels caused the reefs to become uncovered and covered by water during the span of thousands of years. Today the Keys consist of more than 800 islands, most uninhabited, with only a few being inhabited year-round.
