Halcyon understands the need for true quality dive gear as no other manufacturer possibly can. How many companies can say that their founders hold more than half a dozen world diving records, including the longest cave diving penetration in the world- more than three miles (18,000 feet) at 300 feet? How many companies not only sponsor international exploration projects, but consistently encourage their staff to participate in them? This year alone we are preparing educational, wreck, cave and excavation projects to Japan, Philippines, Australia, Red Sea, Singapore, Italy, and Turkey. In addition to serving as a primary sponsor of the Britannic 99 expedition, Halcyon staff members from design, manufacturing, and marketing were making the dives and serving as support. We donate significant resources to scientific and historical research projects because we believe that everyone benefits from a greater understanding of the delicate balance in the underwater world.

Our employees are committed to making all diving safer and more enjoyable. While our staff can often be found exploring new caves or wrecks in remote corners of the world, they are also likely to be teaching introductory open water or overhead diving when they are "away from work." We know how to make life easier for the beginning diver as well as the most seasoned technical diver. We also know that many other dive manufacturers like to talk about exploration projects and sponsored organizations in an attempt to identify themselves with leading edge diving. It's a kind of nostalgia for the way the dive industry used to be, before manufacturing conglomerates and slick advertising firms began to define the terms of design and production. As explorers, we discovered the unfortunate truth that manufacturers are out of touch with the needs of real divers. Too often these discoveries happen in the field, where a simple malfunction can thwart months of careful planning. We also learned that many of the "features" found on equipment are actually a hindrance. Therefore, we design our equipment in conjunction with leading explorers, instructors and avid recreational divers to create a uniquely functional product free of useless sales gimmicks and rich in true reliability.

Few dive gear companies actually produce the equipment marketed under their own name. Instead, a network of subcontractors and third party manufacturers might produce buoyancy compensators for several major companies who will rebrand the product as their own for distribution. Your critical life support system is just another widget passed on from a non-diving industrial manufacturer, who in turn must order tooling changes from another non-diving toolmaker.

Our production process has grown to include designing, manufacturing, training, and even tooling production in-house. Every single product in the Halcyon line must first come up through the real world diving experiences of Halcyon's staff and associates, a far-reaching network of instructors, cave explorers, ocean and rebreather divers. Our extensive underwater activities directly impact the kind of equipment we produce. Our equipment testing is not the result of some passive testing chamber or through calculations on a board, but is conducted in the real world of extreme diving. Our 10,000 ft2 manufacturing facility includes a complete machine shop, allowing full production runs to continue alongside prototype fabrication. Considering Halcyon Manufacturing's resources, it is no wonder we are able to produce the world's most evolved equipment line, with an attention to detail unmatched in the industry.
