Shoot and learn with the pros at this first of its kind undersea film-making event and competition!
Spend seven ultimate days writing, diving, shooting, editing and producing your own 3-5 minute video. Work alongside the BBC's Emmy award-winning underwater photographer, Mike Pitts, Producer/ Director Neil Lucas and team as you produce from conception a professional video. This event will be covered in the pages of Sport Diver magazine with the winning film posted on www.sportdiver.com and www.stuartcove.com. The winner's production will be entered at no charge into the Bahamas Independant Film Festival,. Event includes lodging at the Wyndham Cable Beach, breakfast and lunch daily, daily diving, tanks and weights, video workshops.

Your mission is to plan, shoot and edit a three to five minute film on "Wrecks and Sharks".
The course objectives will be to give an introduction to shooting video underwater and to help improve your underwater shooting technique.
In addition, you will be helped with story lines and storyboards, guided on how to make every shot count. Throughout the week you will have the help and advise from a top BBC editor, there to help you make the most of your filming and getting from storyboard to screen.

- Basic housing maintenance
- Setting the camera white balance
- Shooting in the auto and manual modes
- Wide angle, fish portraits and macro filming.
- Lighting techniques fill and flood.
- Using your assistant to help light and to light for him/her
- Shooting discipline
- Shooting a sequence
- Shooting at night
- Filming sharks
- Selling footage
- Finding the right story
- Using storyboards
- Shooting for the edit
- Working with your footage
- Basic editing practice
- Working with Timelines
- Getting the best out of your shots
- Creative editing
- Adding music and sound to your film
As always, please try and come with the most current up to date software and hardware. If you do not have the editing software we will be able to provide you with a demo version for use during this trip. PC users, we recommend you have the most current version of Windows Movie Maker loaded, you can download this for free from Microsoft's website. For Mac users, we recommend you have either Final Cut Pro, Final Cut Express or iMovie installed.

Video Camera with Firewire or USB connection
Underwater Housing
Minimum of 10 tapes or 10 hours of storage
Accessories, batteries, chargers, lenses, ect.
250 Gb external Harddrive
Laptop with appropriate software
